Global travel technology leader FlixBus has officially entered the Indian market, aiming to revolutionize intercity passenger transportation in the country, the second-largest bus market globally. With operations spanning 42 countries, FlixBus promises convenient travel options at competitive prices while upholding top-tier safety standards.
André Schwämmlein, CEO of FlixBus, expressed excitement about expanding into India, marking the company’s presence in its 43rd country. He emphasized FlixBus’s mission to align with India’s pursuit of sustainable, safe, and affordable travel options for all.
Surya Khurana, Managing Director of FlixBus India, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the company’s commitment to providing safe, comfortable, and cost-effective journeys. He emphasized collaboration with local operators to promote growth, efficiency, and shared mobility, ultimately aiming to reduce congestion and emissions.
FlixBus will target major cities and routes across New Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. Tickets for FlixBus India have been available since February 1, with inaugural routes commencing from February 6 at a special launch price of just ₹99. These routes will connect Delhi with key destinations such as Ayodhya, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Manali, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Ajmer, Katra, Dehradun, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Jodhpur, Dharamshala, Lucknow, and Amritsar. The network will comprise 59 stops and over 200 connections in total.
