“Beti nahi chahiye thi” Man dumps baby in desire of a son – Indore

In a shocking incident that unfolded on Thursday in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, a 30-year-old man named Rohit Yadav has been apprehended for abandoning his 20-day-old daughter in a thicket. Disturbingly, Yadav confessed to this heart-wrenching act, revealing that he took this drastic step because he yearned for a son. The accused, a computer operator by profession, already had a two-year-old daughter but desired a male child.

The distressing episode transpired near the Indore-Ujjain road, close to an under-construction jail. Following a missing complaint filed by the family, the police interrogated Yadav, leading to his confession. The newborn was thankfully rescued from the bushes and has since been reunited with her family.

During questioning, Yadav admitted to abandoning his infant daughter due to his unfulfilled desire for a son. While legal action is underway against the accused, he has not been arrested as of now, as per official statements.

This incident echoes a similarly distressing occurrence from last month in Bhopal, where a father slashed his minor daughter’s throat and left her in bushes, mistakenly believing she was deceased. Fortunately, the eight-year-old girl survived and sought help after regaining consciousness.

As society grapples with such disheartening incidents, it serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for empathy, understanding, and support for families facing societal pressures and gender biases.
