Internet services in Darbhanga, Bihar have been banned until the 19th of February due to efforts to curb violence promoted through social media. The district administration issued the order in response to attempts to incite violence through social media platforms. The ban, effective from, Saturday evening, prohibits access to Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, WeChat, Telegram, and other social networking sites. However, government internet and internet-based services are exempt from this restriction.
